I graduated from Florida International University with an MPH in Environmental Health and Ph.D. in Health Behavior with an emphasis in behavioral genetics. My research has been particular focused on understanding the complex system of behavioral and biological factors affecting alcohol abuse and HIV.
My long-term research interest is to develop effective prevention programs in the areas of AUD and HIV/AIDS as well as to consider ways for translating genetic advances into appropriate health interventions for preventing disease and reducing risk.
