Research Issues
Issues relating to drug addiction, including: Basic Knowledge, Epidemiology and Treatment. Co-factors of drug addiction, including: HIV/AIDS, mental health issues and poly-drug use. International specific factors, including: generalizability of scientific findings across nations, immigration and border issues, increase understanding of how and when comparative studies across nations create special opportunities for scientific advancement.
Priorities
- Expand the boundaries of the NHSN into the international arena
- Advance drug epidemiology and other research while addressing specific needs in Latin America
- Foster research collaboration, funding opportunities, and resources for international researchers
- Promote the advancement of international knowledge and support the career development of our international investigators
