Dr. McCabe’s research interests include the etiology and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, health disparities in the incidence of and interventions for substance use and mental health disorders, longitudinal analysis methods, and the influence of culture on psychological measurement, and using technology to deliver interventions. He is principle investigator on a pilot study, Electronic Alcohol Screening Intervention, funded by the Center for Prevention Implementation Methodology (Ce-PIM) for Drug Abuse and Sex Risk Behavior.About Me
Brian E. McCabe is a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami. He received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami and completed his psychology internship at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System/University of Michigan. Dr. McCabe has an MS and EdS in Counseling from Indiana University, and a BA in Psychology from Purdue University. His research interests combine psychometrics and behavioral interventions with communications technology to provide culturally appropriate services to underserved groups.
